My Pepeha Hi bloggers, for this Summer Learning Journey teaser week, we had to make our pepeha. We were able to use a template or a pepeha website. I couldn't get the pepeha website to work so I just did it on google docs. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JTfCo8K6UOYMre0sTXQL8bMtaEFnsvoAx5Gvvuq50/edit Blog ya later

Choir concert

Choir concert Hi bloggers, On Tuesday we went to the town hall to preform 14 songs that we have been practising since the start of the year. My favourite song was Les Misarable which was the last song that we did. There were around 5 soloists for some of the songs. In between the songs we had different preformances including a band, violinist and kapa haka group. They preformed many different things. For the last song Les Misarable we had people shoutin Revolution, Equality, Liberty and Freedom, then we all shouted Revolution. Les Misarable was the longest. Blog ya later

Create Tumble mash mellow maths

Image
Marshmallow Maths Hi bloggers, for week 4 we did a create tumble. There were lots of different activities such as ; Plasticine  characters, play dough insect, making butter, origami frog pavement art, paper planes and Marshmallow maths. In Marshmallow maths we had to try making a tower out of 20 Marshmallows and 25 tooth picks. It was a lot harder than I thought it was because we always ended up having not enough tooth picks. We experimented with  different shapes that we could use. Me and my partner Chimay ended up using triangles because they seemed to be the strongest shape. We ended up making it 20  centimetres high and 15 centimetres wide.  Here are some photos.

Futsal

Futsal Hi bloggers, Every term we do a different sport, this term we are doing Futsal which is pretty much the same as Football except we are just learning and playing smaller games. For warm up we play a game where you dribble around a football and when he says freeze you have to put your foot on the ball. Some other things that he will say are swap and you have to let go of your ball and find someone eles ball and the last one has to make an animal noise, another is he will say a body part and you have to try stop the ball with that part of your body and the last one was when he said a number you have to get into a group with that amount off people. There is another game you play when you get into 2 groups and you get a number and he will call out some numbers and the people with that number on each group will face it of to try and get a goal and score a point. So far I have enjoyed futsal a lot more than I thought. Blog you later.

Supermarket trip

Supermarket trip Hi, bloggers lately we have had a lady called Isabelle, from food for thought come in. She has been teaching us about food, which foods are good for you, which aren't so good for you and how to read labels on different foods. In the first lesson she taught us all the different food groups and how much of each food group we should be eating in a day. We learnt that we should have five teaspoons of sugar a day and a lot more things. In the second lesson we learnt how to read the labels, what column of food we should be seeing the amount from and how much more or less of each food groups should be in food. At the end of the lesson she taught us how much sugar was in drinks and how many days worth of sugar was in that drink. I found it very interesting because there were drinks that you would think are healthy but they actually had heaps of  sugar. The healthiest drink was water and the least healthiest was a lime drink with 33 teaspoons of sugar. For the last ses...

Beach Clean Up

Image
Beach Clean On Friday, the 27th of September the Senior Syndicate went on a beach clean up at Waikowhai Bay. We went on the last day of school because we couldn't go to the climate strike so we did our part by cleaning up Waikowhai Bay. There were many varieties of rubbish on the beach such as; glass bottles, towels, lots of glass and fishing nets. There were also lots of banks that we could climb, we also found rubbish up the banks. We even found little crabs under the rocks. We all wore our orange beanies that we wore to the climate change so we could see everyone from far away. I think that people should not be so lazy and just put their rubbish in the bin because you never know where it might end up or how it could affect the future. At the end of the day we got lots of photos and walked back to school. Here are some photos from the day.
