Food diary

🍕Food Diary🥕 Hi bloggers, a couple of days ago we made food diaries which helps find out how much sugar we are having a day. I found out that the daily amount we should take are 6 teaspoons. I also found out that I had 8 teaspoons on Tuesday, but half of the teaspoons were natural sugars which come from fruit which doesn't count so I basically had about 4 teaspoons of natural sugar and 4 teaspoons of normal sugar. We had to make a google drawing about the most unhealthy thing on our food diary. The  unhealthiest thing on my food diary was Whittakers Dark Ghana peppermint which has about 5 grams of sugar that is about a whole teaspoon. I also found out that there are some teenagers that have around 30 teaspoons in ONE day! That's all from me, blog you later!

Hobsonville point run

Hobsonville point run Hi bloggers, on Sunday Some kids from our school running club went to the Hobsonville run. There were 3 different runs that you could do there was the 3 km,  5 km and 10 km. I did the 5 km. Amazing Ms Sands organised the run. We had to wear school sports gear. Everyone got a orange bag with some snacks, a note pad and pen, also it had a chip that you had to put on your shoe to record your time. I took 36 minutes. I also came 17th out of 59 females. Once you finished you got a medal and there were lots of food stalls such as sausage sizzles, bake sales, ice cream and there were even burgers. I really enjoyed the day but it was really tiring. I think that our school did really well. Here are some photos from the day. 5 km runners Everyone at the end

Letter box drop

👍Anti - bullying Letterbox drop👍 Hi bloggers, on Friday afternoon the Senior Syndicate did a letterbox drop. If you don't know what a letterbox drop is, it is when you put small notes in someones letterbox we wrote anti-bullying and kindness notes.  We wrote small notes on T-shirts made out of paper.  Two of the messages I wrote were 'Stand strong and don't let anyone bring you down'. The other message I wrote was, 'So many languages and a smile speaks them all - keep smiling and the world smiles with you.' On Friday we were made into four groups and we walked the streets and put the letters in the letterboxes hoping to spread joy and kindness.  I think this was a really good idea because it made people's day. We had already done this before and it did lots of impact because we had people send messages and one person called the school to say how happy they were. So I am hoping it goes the same way this time.  Here are some photos of the cards we did...

Mental Health

Gumboot Friday - supporting mental health Jumbo bloggers, welcome back to another one of my blogs. On Friday as you may know it was Gumboot Friday supporting Mental Health. If you don’t know what Mental Health is it when you don’t feel good about yourself and it means you can get depressed. We had a Gumboot Friday to support everyone who may be feeling that way and to raise awareness ab out Mental health. The person chose to wear Gumboots because when you have Mental Health problems it’s like you’re going through mud with all of the negative thoughts and not feeling good about yourself so he chose to wear Gumboots. Also because for some people when they wake up and go to where they need to be it’s like walking through mud for them. He encouraged as many people in New Zealand to wear Gumboots, The teachers and some children wore Gumboots to school. The senior syndicate wrote positive and uplifting quotes / messages. A student in our syndicate  came up with the idea to put ...

Senior swimming sports

🌊Senior swimming sports💧 Hi bloggers, On Thursday the senior syndicate went to Cameron pools for swimming sports. There were four races which were freestyle, backstroke, house relays and year 5, boys year 6 boys, year 5 girls, year 6 girls and teacher and parents race. I was in the first race for freestyle and first race for backstroke. In freestyle I came first which I was really pleased about and then another girl named Neeve came second. Also for the backstroke I came first and Neeve came second again. Then it was time for the relays I got into the house relays which is a race between our house groups and our house groups are Tui (my house), Ruru, Pukeko and kea. There were four people from each house racing. Luckily our house group won which is Tui. Then it was time for the last relay. We all raced and the teachers and parents won by far and I don't know what the other score was. Unfortunately there are no photos from the actual day. Blog you later.

Special Assembly

Special Assembly Hi blogger, as you may know in Christchurch a tragedy has happened, so our school had a special assembly to show respect to everyone in Christchurch. We made cards to send out to all the people who helped in Christchurch and also all the other people that were a part of it. I wrote two messages, one for the hospital and the other one was for the Linwood mosque. Also on Monday we had a special assembly. We planted a kowhai tree by our friendship bench and a person from each class lay all the cards down. We chose a kowhai tree because it represents our school. I was chosen to lay it down for our class I felt honoured to be able to lay a card down. Everyone from our school made a card to send to the people who work and live in Christchurch. Also we had a minute of silence to show that we care. New Zealand has helped a lot and so far we have raised $8,852,439.40.
