Day one Week one SLJ
Summer learning journey
Hi bloggers, The first activity of the summer learning journey was that we had to find three facts out of a piece of writing. The three facts that we find have to be the ones we find most interesting. Here are my top three facts out of the writing.
- Fact one: Did you know that Maui threw his magical hook and caught a fish and this fish was the north island of New Zealand.
- Fact two: Maui created a magic hook from the jawbone of his grandmother.
- Fact three: Some say that the south island was Maui canoe.
Her are some interesting facts about New Zealand that I know.
Fact one: Did you know that New Zealand (Aotearoa) is also called The long white cloud.
Fact two: The capital of New Zealand is Wellington.
Fact three: New Zealand has around 4.790 million people living in it.
Fact four: New Zealand is made up of three different islands. North island is at the top, South island is in the middle and Stewart island as at the bottom.
Fact five: Currently Jacinda Ardurn is our prime minister.
Activity two
North and South island
For activity two we have to describe our home town and what is special about it we had to include lots of information. Here is what I think.
My home town is Auckland. Auckland is the biggest city in New Zealand with just over one quarter of New Zealand's population (1.614). The North island is approximptliy 77% which means that the South island and Stewart island is made up of 23%. Auckland has many places to visit. There are many beaches, parks, cafes , fantastic scenery , Theaters, galleries and museums. I like living in Auckland it is such a great place to live. I always want to live in Auckland or at least stay in New Zealand.

Bonus Activity three
Ice ice baby
For this activity we have to explain what a positive footprint was. I'm guessing you all probably know what a positive footprint is but here's what I think. I think a positive footprint is when you share your learning with other people and always be positive about things even if your having a bad day you should always be as positive as you can. Also when you share your learning and teach other people so they get a deeper understanding of things. It's when your helping other people and being positive about it. Also when you share something with someone and then they can share it with some one else and then you can start sharing with more and more people as well everyone else is sharing as well. That's what I think a positive footprint is.
Blog you later
Morena Zoe,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completing you first day of activities for the Summer Learning Journey. What an incredible post you have put together. I can tell that you have put a lot of time and energy into creating this blog post. I am excited to see more creative posts like this from you over the summer.
All three activities you have done are tremendous, Zoe. I really like how you have used your initiative and gone deeper in your post than what the question has asked. For example, on question 1 you have provided 3 facts about Maui and interesting facts about New Zealand. Well done. For next time, just remember to read the question properly, as it asked you to read the facts on the Tourism NZ website and share your top 3. However, because you have done such a great job researching additional facts, I will still award you with full points.
In activity three, I love that you have gone into detail about the importance of staying positive. I absolutely agree. Sharing kind, appreciative, positive posts online will make others feel better and is a great way to share your love. It is important that we stay smart online because you are right, your work is visible to everyone and other people have the ability share your work . So you must be confident that what you are sharing is appropriate so that you maintain a positive digital footprint. Due to everything you share online being visible and personal, what kind of information do you think is smart to keep private?
Thank you so much for sharing such a quality blog post. I am extremely excited to read the rest of your activities that you have completed.
I hope you enjoy your last day of school,
Megan :)
